At a startup, every hire either compounds your momentum or quietly drains it. PerfectLaunch vets every candidate with structured interviews and live AI coaching, so you hire on evidence rather than a gut feel — then keeps going with the 1:1s, check-ins, objectives and training that decide whether the hire actually works out.

Every candidate, scored against your rubric and ranked on evidence.
The stakes
Widely cited estimates put the cost of a bad hire at roughly a third of their first-year salary — and that's before the runway and momentum you never get back.
~30%
of first-year salary
A commonly cited estimate for the cost of replacing a bad hire — recruiting, onboarding, and lost productivity.
Months
to notice and unwind it
You rarely know in week one. By the time it's clear, you've lost a quarter you can't rerun.
Your roadmap
the real opportunity cost
Every week spent managing a mis-hire is a week your product and your best people don't move forward.
One structured process is far cheaper than one wrong hire. PerfectLaunch is free to start.
Your job isn't to get excited and hire — it's to vet until you're sure. PerfectLaunch keeps you honest at the two decisions that matter:
Score every answer against a rubric built for the role. When a stage score and a hire recommendation disagree, we flag it — so charisma never quietly overrules the evidence.
Structure the pipeline so no one advances on a single good conversation, and so you bring on the right role at the right moment — not in a panic.
How it works
The first four steps get the right person through the door. The last two are what most teams skip — and they are the ones that decide whether the hire pays off.
Build a rubric for each role from scratch or from a proven template. Every question maps to what actually predicts success.
Design a multi-stage pipeline so candidates earn their way forward on evidence — not on one impressive chat.
An AI notetaker joins the call, feeds you the follow-up questions that cut past the pitch, then scores every answer against your rubric — no gut feel, no bias.
A clean scorecard ranks candidates on results, surfaces disagreements, and gives your team one place to weigh in. Per-role reporting shows where your funnel actually leaks.
A ramp of reviews and check-ins is booked from their start date, a 1:1 rhythm starts, and their objectives roll up to what the company is working towards.
Assign a training course and watch it stick. Coaching, check-ins and 1:1s tell you how the hire is going long before a review would.

See it in action
Most tools stop at the offer. The hire is where the work starts — so both halves live in one workspace, on the same people.
Before the offer
Your job isn't to get excited and hire — it's to vet until you're sure. Every candidate runs the same gauntlet against the same bar.

Scorecards
An AI notetaker matches each answer to your rubric and suggests a score; the interviewer's score always wins. Weighted questions roll up to a stage score, and stages roll up to one overall hire recommendation.

One process per role
Design the pipeline once — AI resume screen, then the stages you choose, each with a fixed template and assigned interviewers. Save it as a reusable interview plan.

Coached live, then scored
The notetaker joins the interview, records it, and produces a synced, speaker-labeled transcript — so scores trace back to exactly what was said, and nobody has to take notes while trying to listen.

Reporting on every role
Each role has its own report: the funnel step by step with the biggest drop-off called out, why candidates fall out, who sourced the ones that got furthest, interviews held week by week, and who has been waiting too long with nothing booked.
After the offer
A great interview process still only gets someone through the door. What happens in the next ninety days is what you actually hired for.

One page per person — the interview evidence you hired on, and everything since, side by side.

1:1s
Every standing 1:1 you run, ordered by which is most overdue — with the agenda both people add to between meetings. You see whether it's happening and what's next; what gets said in it stays between the two of you.

Check-ins
A check-in takes them a minute and tells you how the work is going between reviews. This page answers who you need to go and read — who's on rhythm, who's gone quiet, and who never started.

Objectives
Set what the company is working towards, break it into team objectives, and link each person's work to the one it serves. Everyone can see the whole picture, so nobody has to guess what their objectives add up to.

Training
Assign a course and it comes back as short daily reviews rather than a video nobody finishes. Finish it and you earn a certificate — and, where a workspace has connected its own Tremendous account, a cash reward the learner takes as a gift card, a prepaid card, or a donation.
Why I built this
I'd built a startup and watched it lose momentum. Not for lack of an idea — because I didn't have the right people. Every day was a new fire, and I knew that sooner or later I'd have to drop everything and jump in to put it out myself.
My hit rate on hiring was about 50%. A coin flip. Recruiters pushed résumés with the lightest screening imaginable, so we burned weeks interviewing people who were never going to deliver. Every wrong hire cost me months I didn't have.
Everyone repeats “hire slow, fire fast.” Nobody tells you how to hire slow well. So I did what an engineer does: I turned it into a system. Questions built for each role. Real stages. A rubric for every answer. Evidence over excitement — every time.
“The wrong hire nearly cost me my company. PerfectLaunch is the system I wish I'd had.”
Recruiter marketplace
Bring on a specialist recruiter from the marketplace. Every candidate they source drops straight into your structured, AI-scored pipeline — volume at the top of the funnel, without ever losing rigor at the bottom.
Filter by function, region, and pricing. See each recruiter's sourced count, 12-month hires, location, and LinkedIn before you ever reach out.
Engage a recruiter on specific roles only. They see just those funnels — candidates, stages, and comments — and nothing else in your workspace.
Request, they accept, you pay a flat monthly rate through the platform — or a success fee, never both. 30-day terms, with auto or manual renewal.
Works where you work
Connect your Google inbox and email candidates right from their profile. Everyone who connects a mailbox contributes to one shared thread, with saved templates and personal booking links.
Our Chrome extension adds an “Add to PerfectLaunch” button to any LinkedIn profile — one click drops the candidate into your pipeline, pre-filled.
Connect your calendar and the notetaker books itself onto interviews — matched by the candidate on the invite, the time and the meeting link. Nobody has to remember to send a bot.
Connect your own Tremendous account and a course can pay cash the moment it's finished. Your balance, your reward menu — the learner picks a gift card, a prepaid card, or a donation.
Connect Claude or any MCP client and run hiring from your AI: add candidates, open roles, and pull stats — no tab-switching.
